Daytime Emmy-nominated actress Mandy Bruno took over the role of Marina Cooper on Guiding Light on May 12, 2004. Eight weeks after landing the role, Bruno graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. There, she trained in dance, voice and acting and went on to appear in acclaimed theater productions in and around the Columbus area. In 2006, Bruno received her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
In addition to her work on Guiding Light, Bruno continues to pursue her love for the stage. Later in the year, Bruno will step into one of the biggest roles of her career as she has been cast as Eponine in Broadway's Les Miserables. Most recently, Bruno appeared as Belle in a production of Beauty and the Beast at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera House. Her credits also include The Man Who Would Be King, starring opposite Guiding Light former star Paul Anthony Stewart, Vanity Fair, Green Gables, and Little Shop of Horrors. Bruno appeared in several commercials for RCN and the Partnership for a Drug Free America. She is also the spokesperson and vocalist on recordings for spiritandsong.com records.
When Bruno isn't snuggling with her cat, Faith, she is active with the New Haven Animal Shelter.
Bruno grew up in Beaverton, Oregon with her parents Bruce and Diann, brother Christopher and sister Megan. Currently a resident of New York City, Bruno enjoys spending her free time singing, playing her guitar and exploring the city.
