Matthew Atkinson, who has played Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful since 2019, took to Instagram on July 24 with some amazing news. He's going to be a first-time father.
Atkinson took to Instagram to make the announcement in a tender and simple way. He shared a photo of himself and his wife, Brytnee Ratledge, with her hands on her baby bump. Another snap of Brytnee by herself followed. Atkinson wrote a short caption: "Our next adventure. October 2024."
The actor's fellow CBS soap stars chimed in with their congratulations, including Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton, B&B), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester, B&B), Ashley Jones (Bridget Forrester, B&B), Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, The Young and the Restless), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore, Y&R), and Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin, Y&R).
Newlyweds Atkinson and Ratledge married last November at a small 50-guest wedding in Lake Tahoe. The actor described the day to People. "We didn't want to see each other until she walked down the aisle," Atkinson explained. "We did a first touch that included a prayer for the ceremony, and then during the ceremony, we stepped away for our first prayer united, with all our friends and family praying over us."
On B&B, Atkinson's Thomas is a single dad to young Douglas, whom he shares with Douglas' adopted mom, Hope. Thomas spent several months in France this year as Atkinson and Rutledge traveled. The character recently returned to announce his engagement to Paris Buckingham before taking off to Europe once again.
