Nick Newman has been single for months now, which is way too long for this Young and Restless playboy. His relationship with Sally came to an end when they both had to face the fact that her feelings for his brother, Adam, were stronger than the ones she had for him. Since then, Nick has been biding his time with no real storyline and no new love interest prospects.
While many fans would like to see Nick with Sharon again, and others wouldn't mind another go-around with Phyllis, Joshua Morrow has another love interest in mind for his character -- but she is in sunny Los Angeles and not Wisconsin.
What if Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful have an epic ongoing crossover, and Nick finds his new lady love in the L.A. fashion scene? Fans have already seen Lauren Fenmore move to L.A. and B&B, becoming Eric Forrester's love interest for a while, but that was years ago. B&B characters who made a life for themselves on Y&R include Deacon Sharpe and Amber Moore.
Heck, even Nick's most recent ex, Sally, worked at Forrester Creations before moving to Genoa City. So, why can't Nick take a trip to California and meet someone new?
He can hop on the Newman jet whenever he wants, but Morrow needs the story to be an epic triangle.
"What I want to do is have a triangle that involves a cross-show couple," Morrow told SheKnows Soaps. "That would be pretty awesome if we connected the two shows with a pairing that was messy and in a triangle."
Morrow even has the right woman in mind for their scenario -- Steffy Forrester, of course, played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood.
"She's a very beautiful woman and obviously very, very talented," he said. "What man wouldn't want to work with her? So that's the storyline that I want to tell?"
Steffy is also a very married woman, so would the third side of this triangle be her husband, Finn, or another man? After all, Liam Spencer is always an option waiting in the wings for Steffy, and Finn still doesn't know about his wife's kisses with her ex last year. When it comes to Y&R and B&B crossovers, anything can happen.
Should Nick go looking elsewhere for love, or does he belong with someone in Genoa City? Would you like to see more (and more long-lasting) B&B and Y&R crossovers?
