Jed has been acting for fifty years and has guest starred in numerous television shows, which include CSI: Miami, five years on Beverly Hills 90210, Walker Texas Ranger, Six Feet Under and Lassie. Jed has appeared on other soaps as well. He was on Port Charles, Santa Barbara, and Days of our Lives prior to joining General Hospital.
Jed's father was a professional musician, so it was evident that Jed, born Jed Allan Brown, would also be interested in the arts. Though Jed initially intended on being an musician, he eventually grew to love acting instead. After Jed studied theater in Washington in 1958, he came back to New York and began acting on Broadway. When he went to Hollywood, he began landing television and movie roles.
Jed currently resides in Los Angeles and enjoys traveling, golf, sailing, playing music on the piano & banjo, and spending time with his family.
