Soap veterans Ilene Kristen (ex-Roxy Balsom, One Life to Live; ex-Delia Reid, Ryan's Hope/General Hospital) and Lauren B. Martin (ex-Camille Bennett, As the World Turns) will have supporting roles in the upcoming Pride: The Series. Pride is described as "an eight episode genre- and gender-bending television series that depicts four characters who are connected by blood, friendship, sex, and love in a classic battle between good versus evil."
Taking place across a ten-month period, the show documents the emotional lives of its characters in front of a seedy city life backdrop. The creators of the show hope that the series inspires everyone who watches it -- regardless of culture, size, gender, or sexual orientation -- to express themselves and not be afraid to show their own pride.
Pride: The Series was created by Dorell Anthony, who soap fans might know as one of Hunter's bully buddies in Prospect Park's All My Children. The show was directed by Brandon Polanco, the director of the top iTunes short film Writer's Block starring Breaking Bad and soap alum Bryan Cranston (ex-Douglas Donovan, Loving).
In addition to Kristen and Martin, the cast includes: Dorell Anthony, Braden Bradley, Adam Andrew Rios, Ashley Mitchell, Clayton Berger, Scott Michael Salame, Whitney Hoy, Penelope Wendtlandt, Aaron Mathias, Corey Camperchioli, Brandon Polanco and many more.
Details about where to watch the series will be released on the show's Facebook page. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for the series below.
