The nominees for the 75th Annual Writers Guild Awards have been announced, but when it comes to the daytime drama category, there is just a nominee.
Despite multiple entries, Days of our Lives was the sole nominee in the category. Soap Central has reached out to the WGA for an explanation of eligibility rules and/or voting procedures that may have produced just a single nominee.
The DAYS writing team consists of: Head Writer Ron Carlivati; writers Lorraine Broderick, Jazmen Darnell Brown, Joanna Cohen, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Cheryl Davis, Kirk Doering, Christopher Dunn, Jamey Giddens, David Kreizman, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, and Katherine D. Schock.
Days of our Lives submitted three episodes for consideration: #14320, #14321, and #14331. The episodes told the drama leading up to, during, and after the double wedding of Leo and Craig, and Gwen and Xander.
Days of our Lives has won the WGA Award in each of the past two years.
The Writers Guild Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 5, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The awards honor outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2022.
