We're not going to suggest that you should "fan chase" after soap actress Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos, General Hospital), but if you ever did, she'd be getting a taste of her own medicine.
In a new interview with ET's Matt Cohen (ex-Griffin Munro, GH), the actress opens up about a funny thing that happened while she was auditioning for the role of Ally Rescott, who appeared on All My Children, Loving, and The City in the early 90s. At the time, Wright had no idea that she would eventually land the role of Ally, so it was totally natural for her to "fan out" over big stars like AMC's Susan Lucci (Erica Kane).
In her interview with Cohen, Wright shares that after she auditioned for the role of Ally by videotape, she was invited to attend a callback in New York City. At the time, she was living in Washington, DC, and was working at her father's gas station. Thinking she had little hope of landing the role, she aimed to take photos with the soap stars she'd always admired.
"So, I go with my little disposable camera, because I'm like, 'I watch this show. I'm not going to get this job, but I'm going to take pictures of everybody,'" Wright recalls, speaking of the cast of All My Children.
The actress goes on to explain how, when she spotted Lucci -- a.k.a. the Queen of Soaps -- she chased her down the hallway! "[Susan] was like, 'Who's the crazy fan in the building?'" Wright reveals with a laugh.
The actress goes on to share that after she got her Kodak moment with a few members of the AMC cast, she auditioned and went home, feeling pretty good about the day, even without knowing whether or not she'd landed the role.
"Now here's the crazy part," Wright reveals. "Not one of those pictures on that camera turned out. And it didn't need to because I got to see those people every single day!"
