Fan favorite actor Scott Reeves, known for his roles as Steve Webber on General Hospital and Ryan McNeil on The Young and the Restless, and his real-life role as husband of Days of our Lives' Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton), has been hospitalized due to a minor heart condition.
Reeves' Port Chuck band mate, Steve Burton (ex-Dylan McAvoy, Y&R; ex-Jason Morgan, GH), released the news in a Twitter video, explaining that the band's tour is being postponed while the actor receives medical treatment.
"I hate to even have to shoot this video, but I just wanted to share with you that we're going to have to reschedule and postpone the Port Chuck dates because Scott has been hospitalized," he shares. "He came to pick me up this morning about 3:30 a.m. my time, and he said he had a little pain below his sternum for the last day, and I could tell that he was really, really uncomfortable... We were driving to the airport, and he wanted to fly to L.A. and go to the emergency room in L.A., [but] I could tell he was in a lot of pain, so I said, 'No, we're going to go to the emergency room right now,' and we did, and right now, from what we can tell, or they can tell, he has a minor heart condition, and they're basically admitting him to the hospital. They admitted him now, and he's being evaluated. So please pray for him. His family would appreciate that. Scott would; he obviously loves you guys, and he hates this more than anybody. But obviously, his health is paramount."
Burton continues, "We'll come up with the dates that we're going to reschedule. It will be sooner rather than later, hopefully, just as long as we get great news today about Scott. And I'll keep you updated."
