In just over a month, the envelopes will be torn open, and Emmys will be handed out to honor the best in daytime television -- but unfortunately, fans will not be able to tune in to the ceremony. A year after a seemingly successful cable broadcast of the ceremony -- and just two years after a much-maligned webcast -- the ceremony has failed to secure sponsorship that would allow the broadcast to air on television. But, as the saying goes, the show must go on.

"After last year's critically successful Daytime telecast, it is with great disappointment that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announces that there will not be a broadcast of the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," said Bob Mauro, President. "After months of negotiations to find show sponsorship, the NATAS Executive Board has decided that the current climate for awards shows prohibits the possibility of a telecast this year. With that said, we will be putting on a world-class awards celebration honoring the best and brightest of Daytime television and look forward to an exciting show. All efforts regarding returning the annual gala to television in 2017 are underway."

Despite being unable to watch the show live, fans can continue to count on Soap Central to provide unparalleled coverage of the event. From the Red Carpet to the Gifting Suite and backstage with the winners, we'll give you coverage with video, photographs, and interviews that you won't see anywhere else.

All four daytime dramas were well represented on this year's ballot. The top-rated CBS soap, The Young and the Restless, scored the most nominations with 27. ABC's General Hospital and CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful placed second and third, with 24 and 23 nominations, respectively. NBC's sole soap, Days of our Lives, tallied 16.

The ballot was filled with Emmy favorites. General Hospital's Anthony Geary has a chance to win a whopping ninth Lead Actor trophy. He is joined by former costar Maura West, who was a winner last year and again received a nomination. The Young and the Restless' Hunter King has a chance to threepeat in the Younger Actress field.

Days of our Lives favorite Mary Beth Evans earned her very first acting nomination for her long-running role as Kayla Brady -- and then followed it up with a second nomination in the Outstanding Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for her work as Sara Garrett on The Bay. Other first-time nominees include The Young and the Restless' Justin Hartley (who was twice prenominated for his work on Passions), The Bold and the Beautiful's Pierson Fodé and Reign Edwards, Days of our Lives' Melissa Reeves and True O'Brien, and pint-sized GH performers Brooklyn Rae Silzer and Nicolas Bechtel.

Daytime stars also scored big in the digital acting categories. In addition to Mary Beth Evans, Kathleen Gati, Elizabeth Hubbard, Lilly Melgar, Patsy Pease, Van Hansis, Rick Hearst, and Kevin Spirtas all earned nominations. DAYS fave Martha Madison received a nod as a co-executive producer on Winterthorne.

With just a single exception, all four soaps received nominations in the so-called "big three" categories of Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing Team, and Outstanding Writing Team. Days of our Lives did not receive a nomination in the Writing category.

This year's ceremony will be held Sunday, May 1, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites. This year's Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Westin Bonaventure and will take place on Friday, April 29.
