Days of our Lives fans can look forward to a blast from the past when Marie Wilson steps back into the role of Summer Townsend later this month. But as viewers who know the character's history can likely guess, Summer's return won't just be a blast from the past -- it's also bound to be a big blast of trouble!
The NBC soap threw fans a shocker in 2016 when Summer revealed herself as the daughter that Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) had given up for adoption when she was just a baby. Maggie tried bonding with her long-lost child, but Summer's mental health issues and con artist tendencies made it rather impossible for them to form a mother/daughter bond.
The last time fans saw Summer, the character was making a run for it after having been outed for kidnapping Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa's (Jen Lilley) son, Tate. She said a tearful goodbye to Maggie on her way out of Salem and hasn't been seen since. But that will change on Tuesday, January 21, when Maggie comes face to face with the daughter she gave away. Will the mother/daughter pair finally be able to put the past behind them? Or is this just the start of more trouble to come?
In addition to her DAYS role, Wilson is known to soap opera fans as Port Charles/General Hospital's Karen Wexler, a role she played from 1999 to 2003, and As the World Turns' Meg Snyder, which she played from 2005 to 2010.
