Leave it to Days of our Lives' supercouple John and Marlena to want to get down and dirty to something so clean. The two soap characters, portrayed by Drake Hogestyn and Deidre Hall, are the stars of Tide's latest NFL Sunday commercial installment, where they're seen having a "kiss and make up" moment over a laundry disagreement.
The advertisement, which debuted this past Sunday, features Marlena discovering John's dirty Sunday secret: he's supposed to be doing laundry, but instead, he's been washing loads during their "show" (Days of Our Lives) on the weekdays in order to sneak off and watch football on the weekends.
"I know what you've been hiding from me John," Marlena accuses in the clip. "You've been doing laundry on the weekdays, during our show, so you can watch football on Sundays. Traitor!"
John tries to smooth over the situation by asking, "So, will you use Tide with me on Sundays?" to which Marlena replies, "Only if you keep our show laundry free."
Fans can view the John and Marlena Tide commercial via the laundry soap's official Twitter post below, which is captioned, "#LaundryNight is turning into a real soap opera! (Sorry. We couldn't resist)"
