Sometimes stepsisters, frequent enemies, and occasional frenemies, Steffy and Hope have never truly gotten along. Much of their animosity for well over a decade came from the fact that they both wanted and married the same man multiple times. Their shared affection for Liam exasperated some fans and put others at war with one another just like their fictional faves.
At the moment, both seem to have left Liam in the dust (although Steffy has yet to tell her husband about Liam's kisses last summer), but that doesn't mean they don't have another man to fight over -- namely Steffy's big brother, Thomas.
Steffy has been incredulous since Hope and Thomas first got together in Rome last June, and Steffy has spent months on end telling Hope that since Hope couldn't say she loved Thomas, then she should dump him.
In Steffy's defense, she didn't want to see her brother hurt again, and this week, she let Hope know in no uncertain terms how she felt when Hope turned down Thomas' proposal once again.
"Steffy is beyond angry at Hope for leading Thomas on and making him think he had a chance with her," Jacqueline MacInnes Wood told Soaps.com. "I mean, how dare she? Steffy called it! And she's going to let Hope, and anyone else who will listen, know how she feels about Hope breaking Thomas' heart!"
In fact, Wood can see her character wanting to fire Hope from leading Hope for the Future at Forrester Creations.
"But that is entirely up to [headwriter] Brad Bell and his writing team," Wood said. "Imagine the fallout of Steffy firing Brooke's daughter!"
Hope also has her own point of view in this situation. She loves and wants Thomas, but she just doesn't want to get married. That means Hope and Steffy are on opposing sides once again, something Wood relishes.
"The feud stuff with Hope is great fun for Annika [Noelle, Hope] and me," she said. "We really get into character and go for it!"
The fighting will continue next week, with Hope attempting to smack Steffy across the face. Will we soon get a catfight reminiscent of their moms, Taylor and Brooke? Stay tuned to find out.
