The Bold and the Beautiful fans met new character Dr. John "Finn" Finnegan on the Thursday, July 23, episode of the CBS soap opera, but there's much more to the doctor than meets the eye.
In an interview in the upcoming issue of Soap Opera Digest, Finn's portrayer, Tanner Novlan, explains that the character will be a breath of fresh air for Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), who will soon find herself in a romantic pairing with the hot new doc.
"Dr. Finn is an outsider, and I think that's great for Steffy," the actor enthuses. "I think 'Team Steffy' is going to be excited for her to have a new man with a new set of values, and a new version of what passion and love can bring. I think she's ready for a new man."
He continues, "Dr. Finn is clinical and professional at the start, but how can you not fall for someone like Steffy?"
Novlan also reveals that he's extremely excited to be on set at B&B, especially considering he did his screen test with Wood all the way back in March, before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the CBS soap opera to suspend production.
"It's been a pretty unique process," he shares, adding that it was super difficult to keep his new role at B&B under wraps for so long. "I wasn't able to speak about it or tell anyone about it because we didn't know how long the shutdown was going to be. And that's a big thing for me because my family, my mom especially, has been a lifelong B&B fan. Our family dog's name was Thorne -- with an 'e' -- so I remember, ever since I was young, hearing the theme song, hearing the storylines, so it was so exciting and a real honor to be welcomed into that family. Now that it's out of the can, I just can't wait to hit the ground running."
