She hasn't stepped into the shoes of The Bold and the Beautiful's Bridget Forrester or General Hospital's Parker Forsyth in quite some time, but Ashley Jones is still one busy mama. The actress shares that she's now a regular travel tip contributor at Parenting magazine.
In an Instagram post, Jones opens up about how she's actually been in the writing role for a while but was hesitant to share the news until she felt like a true traveling professional.
"I didn't post this when it first came out (and didn't post the other columns, either), because I didn't feel like my life reeked 'expert.' Not the kind of expert in order to have tips in @parenting magazine. Well, that ends now," she writes. "I'm doing my best to be an amazing mom that is forging a better path for my son and making a ton of sacrifices to do it. And I am SO proud to have fun tidbits of info to share I've picked up along the way. I'm leaving the small minded me behind in 2019 with the people I allowed to shame me into feeling that way."
Jones adds that she has fallen in love with the community that is growing via her Parenting posts and her blog, and she invites fans to join that community by sharing things they're proud of themselves for doing.
"I LOVE the community forming here and on my blog and I LOVE watching us support each other. So... yeah -- I'm super happy that @parenting thinks I have worthy things to share," she writes. "Now, YOUR TURN. Let me know something about you that should be applauded right now. Please... tell me."
Becoming a travel writer for Parenting isn't Jones' first foray into professional writing. As fans may recall, she signed on to be a celebrity blogger for People magazine in 2016.
Jones got her start in the soap opera world playing the role of The Young and the Restless' Megan Dennison from 1997 to 2000. She went on to become a staple on The Bold and the Beautiful as Bridget Forrester, a role which she has played on-again, off-again since 2004. In 2016, she took on the recurring role of General Hospital's Parker Forsyth, a professor who developed a romantic connection with her student Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth). The door has been left open for her to return to GH's Port Charles, as well as B&B's Los Angeles. If the latter happens, her travel writing experience could come in handy when the globally popular soap opera plans its location shoots!
