Get ready for another daytime family member: The Bold and the Beautiful's Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer) and The Young and the Restless' Kelly Kruger (Mackenzie Browning) are having a baby!
The soap star couple announced the news via People, sharing that after about a year of trying for a child, "we couldn't be more excited to be bringing our love into this world."
Kruger, who married Brooks in March of 2016, tells the publication that even though she's over the moon, the exciting news hasn't fully sunk in.
"It still doesn't feel real -- aside from the morning sickness, fatigue, crazy changes to my body and the fact that I sobbed on the airplane watching Instant Family," she says with a laugh. "I get so emotional when I think about the fact that I'm growing a little human in my body that's half me and half Darin. I cry every time I think about it!"
Brooks hasn't shared whether or not the news has made him cry, but he is also elated about his and Kruger's journey to parenthood and praises his wife for how she's dealt with the pregnancy thus far.
"Kelly's been truly amazing through this whole process. She's been filming and working through it all, which is incredible," he says. "And just the strength and energy she has had to be the bearer of this new little life form is inspiring."
As Soap Central previously reported, Kruger spent early spring filming an outrageously adorable Christmas movie called A Very Corgi Christmas. She's also taking a bite out of primetime with a role on iZombie, which begins its fifth and final season this May, and is appearing in Hallmark Channel's upcoming film From Friend to Fiancé, which premieres on Monday, May 27.
Brooks is also keeping quite busy, starring alongside his real-life friend Denise Richards (Shauna Fulton) on B&B. But the actor, who also played Days of our Lives' Max Brady, also stepped up quite a bit to help Kruger.
"He's always been a caregiver and nurturer but since being pregnant, he's just stepped up in a way I never expected," Kruger says, adding: "Makes me want to be pregnant all the time!"
In celebration of their new family member, Brooks and Kruger took a trip to Hawaii, where they documented Kruger's growing baby bump with a beachfront photo shoot. You can check out some snaps from the beautiful photo shoot and read more about the couple's pregnancy journey here.
