Cady McClain's (Dixie Martin) first appearance as As The World Turns' Rosanna Cabot is still several days away, but the actress is speaking out about her time at AMC and her future on ATWT.
Though originally thought to be a hoax, a letter written by McClain has been confirmed as legit by an ATWT spokesperson. The complete text of McClain's letter is available through a link at the end of this article.
"Thank you so much for all of your care and interest in AMC and my character of Dixie over the years," McClain says in her letter. "I cannot tell you how much it has meant to me. I have always felt the AMC audience was filled with intelligent, deep feeling people who deserved to be given the very best I had to offer, and I tried every day to never give less than 100%."
McClain admits to being "flattered" that ATWT wanted her for the role of Rosanna Cabot, a role very much unlike her sugary-sweet Dixie on AMC. The actress also admits to being a closet fan of the CBS soap.
"I don't think you know this, but I have been a huge fan of ATWT," continues McClain. "I know almost the characters, and who they've been involved with. I even feel a little star struck around certain actors who shall remain nameless!"
Some fans have already spoken out against McClain's letter, stating that it was inappropriate for her to reach out to AMC fans and try to lure them over to a competing network. Fans of ATWT, however, have stated that they're impressed with McClain's praise of their show.
